May 1, 2016 - Annual  Condition Inspection

Time for this year's annual Conditional Inspection, which I am legally allowed to perform since I built the airplane.  I like to do it around this time of year -- early spring -- hen it's not so cold but before the flying season really starts.  You always hate to take a fully airworthy plane apart but it has got to be done.

Just getting the plane ready for inspection takes four hours or so;  I have to remove all the panels, fairings, cowl, wheel pants, etc.  Lots of screws.

I did the full monty on the wheels -- replacing the brake pads and greasing the wheel bearings.

I replaced the tailwheel and tailwheel steering bracket as well.  New on the left, old on the right.  Yeah, the tailwheel probably needed replacing.
